Manchester Arena Blast: 22 people, including children, died at the blast carried out by ISIS.

Cairo: Terrorist group ISIS has claimed responsibility for the deadly attack at UK's Manchester Arena on Monday night. The terror group said that the blast was carried out with an explosive device planted at American pop singer Ariana Grande's concert, according to a statement posted by the group posted on Telegram. 

"One of the soldiers of the Caliphate was able to place an explosive device within a gathering of the Crusaders in the city of Manchester," the statement said.

At least 22 people, including children, were killed and 59 were severely injured when a suicide bomber struck as thousands of fans streamed out of the concert around 10.30 pm local time on Monday. A total of 60 ambulances and over 400 police officers were deployed after the incident. 

The police said that the suicide bomber died in the incident. 

"The attacker, I can confirm, died at the arena," said Manchester Chief Constable Ian Hopkins.

Her sentiments were echoed by many personalities including David Beckham, Priyanka Chopra, Liam Gallagher as well as political leaders US President Donald Trump and British PM Theresa May.

British Queen Elizabeth II expressed her deepest sympathy on Tuesday to all those affected by the suicide bomb attack. 

"The whole nation has been shocked by the death and injury in Manchester last night of so many people, adults and children, who had just been enjoying a concert," she said, in a statement. 

"I know I speak for everyone in expressing my deepest sympathy to all who have been affected by this dreadful event and especially to the families and friends of those who have died or were injured," she added.
