Donald Trump's Former Girlfriend Accuses NYT Of Twisting Her Comments

Donald Trump, in a series of tweets in the past two days, has denied the allegations and blasted the paper for levelling false charges against him.

Washington: Donald Trump's former girlfriend Rowanne Brewer Lane on Monday alleged that The New York Times twisted her comments about the real estate tycoon to portray him in a negative light.

"The New York Times told us several times that they would make sure that my story I was telling would come across," Lane said.

"They spun it to where it appeared negative. I did not have a negative experience with Donald Trump," Lane said, a day after The NYT did a major investigative story in which it interviewed dozens of women, including Lane, to document 69-year-old Trump's past behaviour with women.

Trump, in a series of tweets in the past two days, has denied the allegations and blasted the paper for levelling false charges against him.

"Wow, Rosanne Brewer Lane, the most prominently depicted women in the failing" New York Times "story yesterday," is on Fox and Friends "saying Times lied," he tweeted this morning.

"They told me and my manager several times that it would not be a hit piece and that my story would come across in the way I was telling it and accurately. It absolutely was not. I don't appreciate them making it look like it was a negative experience," Lane was quoted as saying by the Fox.

Lane, a former model and Trump's former girlfriend, said he never made him feel like she was being demeaned in anyway and she was always being treated respectfully.

"He never offended me in any way. He was very gracious. I saw him around all types of people, all types of women. He was very kind, thoughtful, generous. I did not have a negative experience with Donald Trump," Lane said.
