A Raja Aide Sadiq Batcha's Family Blames DMK For Death. Posters Dot Perambalur.

Sadiq Batcha died of asphyxia and the CBI concluded it was a case of suicide, according to reports.

Chennai: Five years ago, the death of Sadiq Batcha, a close aide of then Telecom Minister A Raja had caused quite a stir as the 2G scam allegations had just started gathering steam.

Now, on his fifth death anniversary, posters and homage advertisements at him home town Perambalur and Tamil Nadu's capital Chennai are tacitly pointing fingers at the DMK.

Claiming to be put up by Sadiq's family, the messages say, "You fell into bad company and died proving your loyalty. You died for no fault of yours."

The DMK, however, blames the ruling AIADMK, with the protests coming ahead of the assembly elections in the state.

DMK Spokesperson TKS Elangovan says, "It shows the ruling party's game plan, they've pressured the family so much. Let them answer for the suicide of Agricultural officer Muthu Kumarasamy and why the Minister responsible for his suicide has been released."

The AIADMK says it has no role in this. Party spokesperson CR Saraswathi says "Madam has not done this, AIADMK has nothing to do with it. The family has said this for the first time. Let there be a fresh investigation so truth can come out."

According to the post mortem report, Sadiq Batcha died of asphyxia and the Central Bureau of Investigation concluded it was a case of suicide and that it wouldn't affect the 2G investigation.

For the DMK, the ghost of 2G that routed the party in Lok Sabha polls is haunting it yet again just before assembly polls.
