Heavy rains today pounded several parts of Tamil Nadu with capital Chennai witnessing the worst rain in nearly a hundred years.

Twelve trains leaving Chennai Egmore were cancelled due to water overflowing on railway tracks between Villupuram - Tambaram section. Eleven trains were diverted.
