Tiger Shroff was born Jai Hemant to actor Jackie Shroff and his wife Ayesha on March 2, 1990. He was later nicknamed 'Tiger' because he used to bite as a child! He has a younger sister named Krishna.
The actor, who made a spectacular debut in 2014's Heropanti, declined a series of projects before agreeing to Sajid Nadiadwala's film. The actor was approached for the remake of the TV series Fauji, which he rejected. Tiger was also offered the remake of his father's film Hero by Subhash Ghai, which he again refused. The film will now launch actor Aditya Pancholi's son Suraj.

Tiger finally bagged Sajid Nadiadwala's Heropanti, in which he featured with actress Kriti Sanon. Despite mixed reviews, the film was a box office success. The film highlighted Tiger's dancing skills and his proficiency in martial arts.
Tiger, who choreographed his own stunts in the film, also received the fifth degree black belt after Kukkiwon officials saw his stunts and action sequences in Heropanti. Tiger has been practicing martial arts since he was a child.

Tiger had helped actor Aamir Khan get in shape for Dhoom: 3. The senior star is now a mentor to Tiger.
Tiger, who is a self-confessed Michael Jackson fan, released a special video last year in which performed MJ's trademark steps to his song Whistle Baja from Heropanti.

Tiger Shroff will be next seen in Sajid Nadiadwala's Baaghi, which will be directed by Sabbir Khan. Other than that, he will be seen in Remo D'Souza's yet-untitled superhero film.
