Satyendra Verma jumped from the 600-foot building, reportedly North India's tallest

New Delhi: One of India's best BASE jumpers Lt Col (retd) Satyendra Verma set a new record as he completed India's highest BASE jump from the 56th floor of a building in Delhi NCR's Noida. The former army officer successfully performed the jump from the height of 600 feet as he leaped from what has been deemed North India's tallest building. The event took place on Saturday.

Satyendra Verma, a pioneer of BASE (building, antennae, span/bridge, earth) jumping in India has over 54 jumps to his credit. He has also completed 2,400 sky dives, 350 wingsuit jumps including a BASE jump from the 450-foot-tall Doordarshan TV Tower in New Delhi. He also teaches skydiving and BASE jumping.

Back in 2015, he received the National Adventure Award (equivalent to Arjuna Award) from president Pranab Mukherjee.
