New Delhi:

The Aam Aadmi Party sacked dissident leaders Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan as its spokespersons late on Tuesday evening. The two leaders have already been removed from the party's important panels and stand on the verge of expulsion.

Atishi Marlena, one of the prominent spokespersons of the party during the election campaign, Anand Kumar and Mayank Gandhi too, have been dropped.

The redrawn list of 20 spokespersons include Sanjay Singh, Kumar Vishwas, Ilyas Azmi and Pankaj Gupta, Ashutosh and Ashish Khetan - all known to be close to party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

Mr Bhushan and Mr Yadav, who have been accused of working against the party and Mr Kejriwal, had been removed from all important internal panels after a bitter and public feud that began just after its sweeping victory in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Over the weekend, they were voted out of the party's National Executive Council by 250-odd members. Sources have said the party is now preparing to expel them on disciplinary grounds.

Amid reports that they are trying to form their own party, the two leaders have now scheduled a meeting with a group of supporters in Delhi on April 14.

The meeting is expected to be attended by activist Medha Patkar, who quit AAP in a show of solidarity with Mr Yadav and Mr Bhushan and Admiral L Ramdas, who was removed as the party's Lokpal, or ombudsman.
