Jammu: Union Minister Jitendra Singh today took a dig at the Congress on the AgustaWestland issue, saying why was the party "worried" if it was confident that there was no evidence against them.

"If Congress leaders are saying that there is no evidence, it is good thing, congratulations to them. If there is no evidence, why are they worried?" Mr Singh said on the sidelines of an event in Jammu to pay tributes to Kashmiri poet Sarvanand Koul Premi.

Flanked by BJP MLC Surinder Ambardar, Mr Singh was replying to a question regarding statement of former defence minister AK Antony yesterday that there is no evidence against Congress leaders.

"They (Congress) should be relaxed. Whatever will be the result of the probe, it will not adversely affect them if there is no evidence. When they are satisfied and they are confident, that all these allegations are baseless, I feel there is nothing to worry," said the minister of state in PMO.

"It is time for them to introspect as this party's leadership is following a dynasty rule. Is it a healthy sign for the party as well as democracy of the country?" Mr Singh said.

Yesterday, Mr Singh hit out at former defence minister AK Antony for his remarks on chopper scam, claiming that he was speaking from the mindset of ten years of UPA rule when "they were dictating the CBI" even as he asserted that the Narendra Modi government does not interfere in the functioning of the probe agency.

"I think he (AK Antony) has answered the question. He is speaking from the mindset of ten years of UPA rule when they were dictating the CBI what to do. I think somebody should remind them," Mr Singh had said yesterday.
