New Delhi: Two years after the Narendra Modi government came to power, it will continue with its outreach programme - this time with #TransformingIndia as its theme.

The Prime Minister will start the two-year anniversary celebrations with a rally in Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh today - the state is going to polls next year.

On May 27, his ministers will fan out across the country, where they will spend the day participating in public meetings - with beneficiaries of government schemes and intellectuals, among others.

A total of 33 teams will hold such interactions in 198 cities till June 15.

PM Modi also plans to visit Shillong on May 27. Home Minister Rajnath Singh will be in Delhi, Foreign Minister Sushma Swaraj in Jaipur, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar in Chennai, Telecom Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad in Mumbai, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu in Bengaluru and Health Minister J P Nadda in PM's constituency, Varanasi.

Hectic preparations are also underway for a massive cultural show at India Gate on Saturday, which will be attended by celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and Prasoon Joshi.

Mr Bachchan is expected to host a segment of the five-hour programme which is likely to include screening of short films around the government's welfare schemes. The plan, though, has run into controversy, with the Congress clubbing it with the Panama Papers issue, in which the mega star's  name had figured.

Select beneficiaries of the various social sector schemes are also expected to share their experiences.

Besides the rally in Saharanpur, PM Modi will also address public meetings in Dhavalgiri in Karnataka on May 29, in Balasore in Odisha on June 2, and another one in Rajasthan.
