#Sandesh2Soldiers: PM Modi Calls For Diwali Messages For Armed Forces

The #Sandesh2Soldiers campaign will increase the interaction between citizens and the army.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has launched a special campaign called "#Sandesh2Soldiers" to invite people to send letters and messages to the armed forces, an official statement said today.

"The campaign gives every citizen an opportunity to spread happiness among the Indian Armed Forces, who are guarding our nation's frontiers, far from their loved ones on Diwali," it said.In a four-minute video released on the NaMo app, MyGov.in and Doordarshan, PM Modi appeals to people to send messages to soldiers on Diwali.

"On festivals we remember our loved ones. Send your love and wishes to our soldiers who give up their life and comfort for our safety," PM Modi said in the video.

Doordarshan is also going to mount a programme to share people's emotions with the armed forces.A special module has been launched on the Narendra Modi App to enable people to send greetings or their hand-written messages to the armed forces.

The #Sandesh2Soldiers campaign is expected to increase the interaction between citizens and the army.

The video starts with a child sending a 'Thank You Rocket' to soldiers for defending the nation under extreme conditions. It also shows a mother remembering her son while making sweets.
