PM Modi Meets Ministers, Asks Them to Seek Feedback From Public
New Delhi:

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today gave 13 ministers of his government a pep talk and asked them to get feedback on their work from the public.

PM Modi met all Ministers of State with Independent Charge for over two hours this morning. Amit Shah, the president of the ruling BJP, was also present.

Sources say the prime minister questioned whether the ministers were facing any problems and asked them to stay in touch with him.

He also reportedly asked them to connect with the people.

Sources say PM Modi urged the ministers to work in a transparent manner and make policies in public interest.

After the meeting, some ministers said it was a "good exercise" and should take place on a regular basis.

Today's discussions comes days after the BJP was warned by its ideological mentor, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh or RSS, against what it believes is a growing disconnect within the party over the past few months.

In a coordination meeting that assessed, among other things, the BJP's abysmal performance in the February Delhi election, the RSS told top leaders to tackle the widening chasm and fight negative perception about the government.

It was decided that Amit Shah would meet with party workers twice a month; he has been regularly meeting ministers at the party headquarters.
