Petrol Bombs Hurled At Jammu And Kashmir Minister Naeem Akhtar's Home

Srinagar: Two petrol bombs were hurled at the home of Jammu and Kashmir minister Naeem Akhtar in Srinagar last night. No one lives in that house.

Police sources say one of the bombs fell in the compound.

The minister lives in an official bungalow in the high security Gupkar Road.

Though no one was hurt, police officers call it a serious attack as it took place in the Civil Lines area, which is usually calm.

Over 55 people have been killed in clashes after the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen terrorist Burhan Wani by security forces on July 8.

Last month, protesters burnt the house of a leader of the ruling PDP in south Kashmir. Chief minister Mehbooba Mufti too faced protests last week.
