People With 60 Per Cent Disability Will Get Pension: Manohar Lal Khattar

Mahendragarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today announced that those suffering from 60 per cent disability will be eligible to get monthly pension of Rs 1,200 and the doctors would visit the person and certify the condition on spot.

Henceforth a monthly pension of Rs 1,200 for differently able persons would also be given to those suffering from 60 per cent disability, Khattar said during a public meeting here.

Presently, the pension is given to those having 70 per cent disability.

Mr Khattar also said that henceforth no differently able person would be referred to a doctor to prove his disability. "But the doctor would be called to examine and issue certificate of the disability on the spot," he said.

The CM made the announcement following one Sushila, a resident of village Barak tried to see him because she was fed-up by making repeated rounds of hospital and the concerned department to get a certificate of disability issued for her son.

Deeply moved by her hardship Khattar made the announcement.
