Ahmedabad: Leading a concerted attack on Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal, Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani today said that "everyone was tired of your (Kejriwal's) lies". He dismissed all charges of corruption and poor governance as "malicious propaganda" by his Delhi counterpart who is campaigning for the AAP in Gujarat.

"Entire country is saddened by his comments supporting Pakistan. Everyone is fed up with his lies, and I believe his words have no meaning," Mr Rupani said after Arvind Kejriwal targeted him during public meetings over the weekend.

Other senior BJP leaders including Rajya Sabha member Purshottam Rupala and Gujarat BJP president Jitu Vaghani also took on Mr Kejriwal for calling BJP national president Amit Shah a "traitor".

"Did Amit Shah make his rally unsuccessful? He should understand that people don't wish to listen to him after he demanded proof of surgical strikes against Pakistan. People don't like him, and he is trying to link this with Amit Shah," claimed Mr Rupala.

"It is a political stunt (attacking Amit Shah) to try and remain in the spotlight," said Mr Vaghani adding "people of Delhi are asking him why haven't you fulfilled your election promises, and he is busy making baseless allegations."

Mr Kejriwal - who is on four-day visit to Gujarat - has repeatedly alleged that a scared BJP was trying to scuttle his public meetings. He also reached out to the disgruntled Patel community in the state, supporting their demand for quota in government educational institutions and jobs.

On Saturday, he met with the family of two quota agitators who were killed by the police during protests and lavished praise on Patel leader Hardik Patel calling him a "true patriot".
