An odd-even license plate system is being implemented in Delhi from January 1, 2016. The decision was taken by the Delhi government to curb the rising pollution levels in the city. The rule will apply for 15 days starting January 1. To ensure that there is adequate public transport available to the people, the government has ordered more than 3,000 additional buses to ply on busy routes across the city. The Delhi metro will also increase its frequency to accommodate 70 additional trips during the day.

How to deal with odd-even formula violators?
1) It's based on trust, we can't fine people who claim to be ill or are going to hospital
2) We have to convince people to follow the rule.
3) If you see any car violating the rule, please tell them "Uncle go home"
4) You have to keep telling people, anyone who violates the rule, please tell him

1) My son told me not to talk about pollution rather explain us as to what we can do
2) We'll start vacuum cleaning on the streets around April 1 as it is done in Europe

Odd-Even Plan: Twitter To Support TransportThe Delhi government has tied up with Twitter to bring real-time information on public transport to commuters on the social media during the 15 days the odd-even scheme is implemented. Delhi Transport Minister Gopal Rai said that Twitter will help commuters find information about bus routes, Metro, autorickshaws during the road-rationing experiment beginning January 1.
Delhi Metro trains will make 70 additional trips during the odd-even trial period, taking the number of daily trips to 3,192, that will lead to a marginal increase in the frequency of its services to tackle an expected rush of passengers.
These have been distributed over Red, Blue, Yellow and Orange (Airport Express) lines with 12, 11, 17 and 30 additional trips respectively. According to data provided by Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), the total number of trips undertaken in November stood at 3,122.
DMRC, which has in its fleet 220 trains, will be using 198 trains daily to achieve the target. "We will be pressing into service the maximum number of trains possible operationally during this period keeping only the essential maintenance reserve," a metro official said.
