Kalahandi, Odisha: After the tragic incident of Dana Majhi who carried his dead wife's body for 10 km in Odisha's Kalahandi district, another tragic incident has surfaced in the state where daughters had to dismantle the roof of their home to collect wood for their mother's funeral.

As per reports, Kanak Satpathy, a 75-year-old woman, died after a prolonged illness on Friday night.

Following her death, her daughters pleaded with villagers to help them cremate their mother, but to no avail.

The woman dismantled the roof of their home and used it for the cremation of their mother.

After waiting for hours, the daughters placed the body of their mother on a woven cot and started marching towards the cremation ground.

With no wood for the funeral pyre, they dismantled the roof of their home and used it for the cremation.
