Incredible India? Not According To Booker Prize Winner Marlon James

In October, Marlon James won the Booker for his "A Brief History of Seven Killings".

New Delhi: Booker Prize winning author Marlon James received some rave reviews on Twitter for his session at the Jaiput lit fest today with British author Patrick French.  But earlier, in a post on Facebook, the Jamaican writer ranted about the problems he encountered upon landing in Delhi.

Talking about a long list of troubles at the airport with his luggage and  his transfer from the domestic to the international airport, the 45-year-old's Facebook post wrapped up with,  "Dude I just want to board my fucking flight. Oh it's delayed, you say? Nice first impression, India."

It created a strong backlash.

His publishers have not commented on the controversy.

The author was trending at different times during the day.

In October, Mr James won the Booker for his "A Brief History of Seven Killings", a novel that draws on the true story of the assassination attempt on reggae star Bob Marley's life to explore several decades of Jamaican history, gang warfare and politics.
