BJP-RSS Meet a 'Mockery' of the Constitution, Says AAP

AAP leaders also accused the BJP of not focusing on real issues being faced by the people.

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh-BJP meet amounted to "mockery" of the Constitution, and the meeting involving top Union ministers with the BJP's ideological mentor, was indicative of the "interference" in the political process by the RSS.

"The meeting between Narendra Modi government and RSS is highly questionable. The government is accountable and answerable only to the public. Such a deliberation is a mockery of the constitutional arrangements and parliamentary democracy," said Ashutosh, senior leader of AAP.

AAP leaders also accused the BJP of not focusing on real issues being faced by the people.

"Satish Upadhyay (state BJP President) should answer as to why the Centre is not selling onion at Rs 20 per kg at Safal outlets instead of asking us? And if they have onion at cheaper prices available with them why are they not communicating it to the government directly," said Dilip Pandey, chief of the Delhi AAP unit.

Apart from BJP chief Amit Shah, 12 senior ministers and RSS affiliates will also attend the three day meet that has been billed as a 'samanway baithak' or coordination meeting, being chaired by RSS chief, Mohan Bhagwat. They will discuss key social and economic issues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to attend the coordination meet while Mr Shah will be present for the better part of the exercise in which issues like census figures, One Rank One Pension, Patel agitation in Gujarat, land bill, labour reforms and education policy are likely to be discussed.
