Goa Police Issue Advisory To People On BRICS Summit Eve

Goa Police have issued security advisory for general public during the BRICS summit starting tomorrow.

Panaji: Against the backdrop of stepped up vigil in Goa for the BRICS summit to be attended by leaders of five emerging economies including India police have issued security advisory for general public, listing out do's and don'ts during the high-profile event starting tomorrow.

"All citizens are requested to co-operate with law enforcing agencies and report any suspicious activities or suspicious baggage/article to authorities immediately," Goa Police said in a press release issued today.

"The identity of the person providing information would be kept secret," it said.

It asked people not to believe in rumours or spread them. "Police are committed to provide safety and security to citizens and therefore seek their co-operation in achieving the objective," the advisory said.

Police advised the citizens not to touch any unclaimed, abandoned, suspicious object and not to panic on getting any information or receiving telephone calls regarding any subversive activities.

"The citizens should not crowd the place if any suspicious object has been found.They should not unnecessarily loiter in public places," the advisory said.

"They are also advised not to leave their personal baggage or vehicles unattended at any place for long," it added.
