#HelpFindDipti: Snapdeal Seeks Info On Missing Woman Employee

Snapdeal has launched #HelpFindDipti and has asked for any information that could help locate her.

New Delhi: Snapdeal has launched #HelpFindDipti to locate a young employee, 24-year-old Dipti Sarna, who went missing from Ghaziabad on Wednesday while on her way home from work. Snapdeal has asked for any information that could help locate her to be shared via Direct Message on Twitter.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav has said the case is a big priority for the state police.

The police have started a hunt in and around the metro station, but they have got few leads.

Ms Sarna had left the Snapdeal office in Gurgaon on Wednesday evening. As usual, she took the metro home to Ghaziabad, where she got into an auto around 8 in the evening, police sources said.

From the auto, she called her house -- another daily ritual -- to inform her family that she was en route to a pre-arranged spot from where her father or brother would collect her.

She then phoned a friend in Bangalore, who has reportedly told the police that Dipti could be heard scolding the auto driver about the route that he was taking. After that, her phone was switched off.

"Her friend immediately called and informed us, but when we reached the apparent area where this happened, we found nothing," her father Narendra Sarna, told NDTV.

Kunal Bahl, the Snapdeal founder, said the organization is working with the police to help locate her. A statement from the company, which is backed by Japan's SoftBank, added, "We are extremely disturbed with the reported abduction of our team member. Her security and safety is our topmost priority."
