The first song of Huma Qureshi's forthcoming movie
Partition: 1947 has been unveiled by the makers of the film today. The three-minute song, titled
Do Dilon Ke, highlights the love story of Aalia (Huma Qureshi) and Jeet (Manish Dayal). It also shows how they are made to part ways after the partition of India. The melodious song has been sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Hariharan. The lyrics of the song have been written by Navneet Virk and the music has been composed by A R Rahman.
Partition: 1947, which has been directed by Gurinder Chadha, was earlier scheduled to release as Viceroy's House. Watch the first song of the movie here:
Partition: 1947 is based on the inside life the Viceroy's House during the partition of India. The film also features Gillian Anderson, late actor Om Puri, Manish Dayal and Michael Gambon in pivotal roles.
In an earlier interview with news agency IANS, the
30-year-old actress, who will be making her international debut with Partition: 1947, spoke about her co-star Hugh Bonneville and said that he is 'deeply interested in India and Indian politics.'
"Hugh is wonderful and of course, he is very talented. At the same time, he is very intelligent. Hugh is very aware and abreast with world views, current trends. He would come across as someone who is deeply interested in India and Indian politics," IANS quoted Huma Qureshi as saying.
Last month, the trailer of Partition: 1947 was released by the makers of the film.
