US, India Need to Fight Violence, Terrorism Together: Hillary Clinton

Washington: The US and India need to fight violence, terrorism and poverty together, Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton has said.

In her remarks to a delegation led by Jain leader Acharya Dr Lokesh Muni, Clinton said in future India will play a larger role on the international platform Meeting Clinton on the 10th foundation year of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti, the delegation among others included international coordinator of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti Karamjit Singh Dhaliwal, Congressman Joe Crowley and Congresswoman Grace Meng.

Noting that violence and terrorism cannot solve any issues, Clinton said problems can be solved through dialogues and discussions.

The US and India need to fight together against violence, terrorism and poverty, Clinton said.

Appreciating the 'Peace Education' programme of Acharya Muni, she said that religious leaders can play a vital role in making the world a better place to live in, a statement said. Muni invited Clinton to India to participate in 10th Anniversary celebration of Ahimsa Vishwa Bharti. Clinton is seeking a Democratic presidential nomination to run for the White House in 2016. If elected, she would be the first woman president of the United States.

This is her second presidential bid. In 2008, she lost in the Democratic Party primaries to incumbent US President Barack Obama.
