Municipal Council to Launch Special Cleanliness Drive in Delhi

New Delhi: The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) will launch a theme-based cleanliness drive from December 1 to 15, focussing in and around religious places and tourism and heritage sites.

Naresh Kumar, chairman of the NDMC, the smallest of the civic bodies in the national capital, announced this in a statement.

Mr Kumar said special emphasis will be on sanitation, sweeping and cleanliness with removal of garbage, debris, horticulture waste as well as unauthorized encroachment in the NDMC area.

Mechanical sweeping will be done around these places at night every day. Additional movable dust bins will be operational during part of the drive.

All street lights will be made properly functional, he said.
