Five-Month-Old Foetus Found In Toilet Of Delhi City Hospital

The foetus has been sent for post-mortem examination and a case has been registered.

New Delhi: A five-month-old foetus was found today in a ladies' toilet of a city hospital in southwest Delhi's Jaffarpur Kalan area, police said.

The male foetus was found in the toilet in Rao Tula Ram Hospital around 11 am following which the authorities informed the police, a senior police officer said.

An investigation has been initiated in the matter, he said.

The foetus has been sent for post-mortem examination and a case has been registered under section 316 (causing death of quick unborn child by act amounting to culpable homicide) of the IPC against unknown persons, the officer said.

Police said they are questioning the hospital staff to gain more details. The CCTV footage from cameras installed in the hospital premises is being scanned to ascertain the identity of the people who dumped the foetus, he added.
