New Delhi: As his Health Minister Satyendar Jain was summoned by the income tax department, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today promised to expose "a very big conspiracy" against his government on Friday.

He would make the revelation in the Delhi Assembly, Mr Kejriwal tweeted, also asserting that Mr Jain is innocent and being framed.
IT officials said Mr Jain has been summoned next week in a case of alleged tax evasion and illegal transfer of money as the department investigates four Kolkata-based firms linked to him.

The officials said Mr Jain was the key investor in a company which is being investigated for an alleged illegal transaction of 17 crores, and that he has been asked to meet an investigating officer on October 4 with personal financial details and income tax returns for the last four years.

"The summons are issued as part of an inquiry into a case which the I-T department has been probing for some time now. Mr Jain will be confronted with documents seized during searches in Kolkata," news agency Press Trust of India quoted sources in the IT department as saying.

Mr Jain said he has been summoned only as a witness. "As an investor, I had made investment in these companies four year back, but I have nothing to do with these companies since 2013. I have done nothing wrong. I have only been summoned as a witness. It is just reassessment not investigation," the minister told reporters.

He too promised a big revelation by Mr Kejriwal on Friday.

Arvind Kejriwal has accused the centre of gunning for his party's lawmakers and "sending Delhiites to jail under false cases". 20 arrests have been made since AAP came to power in February last year after sweeping the Delhi elections.
