New Delhi: A press conference called by the Delhi Commission for Women (DCW) to discuss a case involving AAP leader Kumar Vishwas turned into a public fight , with one of its members saying the politician is being framed and announcing her exit from the women's rights panel.

A woman volunteer from AAP or Aam Aadmi Party has said that Mr Vishwas has reneged on promises to publicly refute reports that he had an affair with her.  She has asked the women's rights group to support her demand. Mr Vishwas said that he had not received summons today to appear before the panel, which contradicts the claim of Barkha Singh, who heads the committee.

At the press conference, as Ms Singh prepared to address the media,  panel member Juhi Khan, sitting beside her, told  journalists that Mr Vishwas is innocent and is being framed. She also accused Ms Singh, who is from the Congress, of trying to exploit the controversy for "political mileage".

Ms Singh retaliated by accusing Ms Khan of being an AAP member.  In protest, Ms Khan walked out and declared that she is quitting the committee. "

AAP and its leader, Arvind Kejriwal, have stood by Mr Vishwas, alleging that the woman complainant is being nudged to defame him by his political opponents.
