Woman Allegedly Raped By Ashram Head In Vrindavan

An FIR was lodged by the victim in Delhi has been transferred to the Vrindavan police station.

Mathura: A married woman from Delhi was allegedly raped by a head of an ashram in Vrindavan, police said on Friday.

The incident took place on July 28 when the woman along with her husband had visited Vipin Maharaj Guru's Raas Behari Trust Charitable Ashram in Vrindavan, they said.

An FIR was lodged by the victim in Delhi has been transferred to the Vrindavan police station for further investigations, police said.

"The woman with her husband had visited Raas Behari Trust Charitable Ashram Vrindaban to meet Vipin Maharaj on July 28," they added.

She has alleged the Ashram head raped her after sending her husband to buy some articles from a nearby market. He allegedly threatened her of dire consequences if she disclosed the matter, police said, adding that she told her husband about it on reaching Delhi.

The woman's statement was recorded on Friday.

Meanwhile in a separate incident, a minor girl was allegedly molested by two men in Oondi village under Chatta police station, police said on Friday.

The victim's mother accused Vivek and his friend of molesting her 16-year-old daughter when she was coming home on October 30, they said.

The girl's clothes were found torn and she was allegedly threatened with dire consequences if she reported the matter, police said.

A case has been lodged against the accused under relevant sections of IPC and the provisions of POCSO Act. No arrest has been made so far, police added.
