Have known Justice Ganguly for a long time, don't believe allegations: Justice Altamas Kabir
New Delhi: Justice AK Ganguly, who is being investigated for alleged sexual harassment of a law intern, saying that he is "undecided" on whether to resign as chairman of the West Bengal Human Rights Commission has stirred a debate.
  • I have known Justice Ganguly for a long time. I would never believe these allegations.
Justice Altamas Kabir, former Chief Justice of India 04/12/2013
  • Justice Ganguly should step aside until the verdict comes out because he is in a position of trust. Justice Kabir had no business giving Justice Ganguly an anticipatory clean chit.
Indira Jaisingh, Additional Solicitor General of India 04/12/2013
  • I strongly feel that Justice Ganguly should resign as Chairman of West Bengal Human Rights Commission.
    Sushma Swaraj, BJP leader 04/12/2013
  • Mere accusations must not necessitate his resignation. What a dangerous precedent it will be... Merely to say any person should resign merely on making of an allegation which is denied by the party is not fair.
Soli Sorabjee, former Attorney General of India 04/12/2013
  • Anyone can make allegations. Why should Justice Ganguly resign? There is no FIR. The law intern has only made allegations. Justice Ganguly shouldn't resign on the basis of allegations.
    Subramanian Swamy, BJP leader 04/12/2013
