New Delhi: Michelle Obama, who is in India on a three-day visit, landed in Delhi's Palam Airport this morning wearing an outfit by Indian designer Bibhu Mohapatra. She exited Air Force One hand-in-hand with US President Barack Obama in a geometric-print black and white knee-length dress with blue-floral motifs in the center. She teamed this with a matching cape coat that carried forward the same floral prints on the sleeves. With matching simple black pumps, she looked absolutely at ease.

Bibhu Mohapatra, who is based in New York but is orginally from Rourkela in Odisha, has dressed Mrs Obama before - she wore a dress by Mr Mohapatra on Jay Leno's TV show. He has even dressed Bollywood actors Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor as well.

About an hour ago, he tweeted confirming that she was wearing his creation:

Mrs Obama has been occasionally known to wear creations by American designers of Indian origin like Naeem Khan and Rachel Roy, who designed the outfit FLOTUS wore to the state dinner in New Delhi on her last visit to India in 2010. Her wardrobe on the 2010 trip also included outfits by Peter Som, Dries van Noten and American label J. Crew.

Michelle Obama has an affinity for floral prints and is often seen in noveau designers such as the Thai-designer Thakoon, surfer-turned designer Tracy Feith and her favourite Tracy Reese.
