New Delhi:
Addressing a press conference this evening, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced a new mechanism to solve public grievances.
Following are the highlights of his press conference:- Many officers are honest, they did not get the chance to do good work. Only few bad fish in the pond
- I congratulate the people of Delhi for stings conducted
- They are very good anti-corruption inspectors, sting journalists
- We will get a 4-digit number for the anti-corruption helpline by tomorrow or day-after
- Public grievances are a big issue for the government; these are symptoms of the disease
- Till be revamp the system, we have to solve grievances
- From day-after, all ministers of the Delhi government will sit in front of the secretariat from 9:30-11:00 am
- And then daily, one minister will sit there to solve grievances
- Urgent grievances will be solved over phone immediately
- New SMS-based system will be developed for the grievance compliance mechanism
- The governance is so poor today that I fear there will be thousands of grievances - we plan to start with honest intentions and move along as we progress
- Media is not allowed into the call centre so that it is not accessible to any of the corrupt officers
- It is also for their own security
- I have told the power department to take stock of scheduled and unscheduled power cuts. We have asked companies to submit details
- We will upload the data on the website and will hold companies accountable for unscheduled power cuts
